Students at The Westgate School participated in the First Give competition, supporting local charities through a variety of social action projects. Their goal was to connect with local charities, learn about important causes, and take meaningful action to support them.

Students supported a range of charities, including Trinity, Solent Minds, and The Boaz Project. Their efforts included activities like handing out free soup, cycling for awareness, and baking cakes to raise funds. These projects were presented to their peers and a panel of judges, showcasing their dedication and creativity.

Fyvie-Rae, Associate Senior Leader at Westgate, summed it up beautifully:

“Our pupils have worked hard to deliver impactful projects. Through our Personal Development curriculum, we aim to provide opportunities for pupils to foster a sense of responsibility to others and society, and the First Give initiative provides an incredible platform for pupils to engage with this.”

The Boaz Project was proud to be part of the event, which highlighted the positive impact young people can have on their communities. As a result of their work, The Boaz Project was selected as the overall winner, receiving a £1,000 donation from First Give.

A special thanks to all the students, teachers, and supporters who made this event possible.
