Do you know someone who would love working outdoors, making friends and being part of a welcoming community? The Boaz Project is a farm-based day service near Winchester, Hampshire, for adults aged 18 and over with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

A day at Boaz

Our members enjoy real, meaningful work, from caring for the animals and growing vegetables to woodwork, cooking, and arts and crafts. Everyone enjoys a hot meal together at lunchtime.

When we’re open

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm. Members can come for a morning, an afternoon or a full day.

Leaving school or college?

Many families get in touch as a young person is getting ready to leave school or college and is wondering what comes next. We’d love to hear from you.

How to join

Anyone can make the first enquiry: the person themselves, a family member, a carer or a social worker. We’ll then invite you to visit Hill Farm, meet the team and talk through the support we provide.

Free taster session

Once funding is in place, we’ll arrange a free half-day taster session so your family member can experience a typical day at Boaz. Our team will then carry out an assessment, together with you and everyone involved, to make sure Boaz is a good fit.

Four-week trial

New members start with a four-week trial, and we review how things are going each week.

Funding

Places are usually funded through adult social care. Attendance between the end of the trial and the formal start of commissioning needs to be funded, either privately or through the Boaz bursary.

For social workers and commissioners

Boaz provides farm-based day opportunities, commissioned by the morning, afternoon or full day. Where the individual service contract will be backdated to the start of the placement, the individual can start immediately.
