Virgin Media O2 Volunteers Join Us for a Day of Hands-On Help

On Wednesday 16 July, we were thrilled to welcome a team of volunteers from Virgin Media O2 to Boaz. With paintbrushes, gardening gloves, and plenty of good humour in hand, they spent the day working alongside our members to help spruce up spaces around the farm.

From painting walls to weeding the garden, the team brought energy, kindness, and a real sense of teamwork. For many, it was their first time visiting a day service like Boaz—and the experience made a lasting impression.

Ian, one of the volunteers, shared his thoughts:

“I spent the day volunteering at Boaz and can honestly say I had a GREAT day. The project is incredible—offering people with learning difficulties a sense of purpose, a chance to learn new skills and a great, safe, social space. I was a little nervous going in, but as soon as I arrived, I was made to feel welcome. One of the members even guided me in and showed me around. The staff, volunteers, and members were all amazing. Boaz feels more like a wee family than a charity.”

We’re so grateful to the Virgin Media O2 team for their time, effort, and generosity—and yes, the donkeys appreciated the extra attention too!

It’s always a joy to see new faces getting stuck in and discovering what Boaz is all about. We hope to welcome you back again soon.
