At Boaz, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting some incredible social work placements and physiotherapy students over the past few months, and we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you for everything they’ve contributed. Their hard work, enthusiasm, and friendly approach have truly made a positive impact, both on our members and within our team.

Above and Beyond

Our physiotherapy students spent the last 10 weeks with us, supporting our members with mobility, physical health, and overall well-being. Their expertise and warm personalities made them a fantastic fit here, and they quickly became an integral part of our daily activities. Whether assisting with exercises or offering advice on movement, they provided invaluable support.

But they didn’t stop there! These students also got their hands dirty—literally—by helping with a concreting project. Their willingness to pitch in with whatever needed doing, from physical therapy to practical tasks, showed just how adaptable and committed they are. We’re so grateful for their all-around contribution and the positive energy they brought to the farm.

Social Work Placements: Your Impact Has Been Unforgettable

We also want to express our gratitude to our amazing social work students, who have been with us for several months.

Our social work students have spent several months with us, gaining practical experience and developing the skills needed for their future careers. Combining classroom theory with hands-on work, they’ve spent four days a week at Boaz, supporting our members in everything from craft and cooking to outdoor activities like horticulture and donkey walks. Their contribution has been invaluable, especially when it comes to creating new, inclusive activities with a focus on team building and fun.

One of the highlights of their time at Boaz has been the opportunity to work closely with our members, learning the importance of listening and engaging with individuals on a personal level. Whether it’s offering a listening ear or helping a quieter member get involved in activities, their compassion and dedication have truly shone through. One of our students, who initially struggled with her fear of chickens, even overcame this challenge to care for our flock of 120 egg-laying hens—a testament to her commitment and growth!

They’ve also brought fresh energy to the team, creating a positive and engaging atmosphere that everyone has benefited from. As they reflect on their time here, both students have expressed a desire to continue supporting Boaz as volunteers once their placements end—a perfect reflection of the bonds they’ve built with both our members and the team.

You Will Be Missed!

It’s always a pleasure to have students join us, but these students truly stood out. The relationships they built with our members, their hard work, and their willingness to pitch in wherever needed have made a real difference. We’re sad to see them go, but we’re so grateful for the time we had together.

As they move forward in their careers, we know they’ll take the skills, experiences, and lessons learned here with them. Boaz will always be cheering them on, and we hope they carry a little piece of what they experienced here into everything they do next.

Thank you again to our social work placements and physiotherapy students. We will miss you and are incredibly grateful for all you’ve done! 🌻
