Brewing Up New Skills at Boaz

There’s a new skill brewing at Boaz!

Our members have been getting hands-on with a brand-new barista course, thanks to our friends at River Coffee Roasters.

As part of our local charity partnership, River Coffee Roasters has donated an espresso machine and is helping our members learn everything from where coffee beans come from to using the machine, steaming milk and serving drinks.

It’s been a great opportunity to build practical workplace skills, confidence and independence – and everyone who completes the course receives a certificate to celebrate their achievement.

Boaz member Tom is already thinking about his future career:

“I definitely want to be a barista. My favourite coffee is flat white, extra hot.”

We love his enthusiasm!

It’s been fantastic to see our members getting stuck in, mastering new skills and discovering what they can achieve. And, of course, there’s the added bonus of really good coffee.
