Working in the kitchen
Overseen by Sally, the kitchen is the engine room of the project! Members make jams and chutneys from fruit and vegetables that have been grown or foraged from the farm hedgerows. They make cakes, biscuits and healthy snacks for our morning and afternoon tea breaks. The project endeavours to promote healthy eating habits and to teach basic cooking skills whilst reinforcing essential hygiene standards around food. The aim in the kitchen is to provide an opportunity to learn and practice cooking and good hygiene skills that members will continue to use when cooking at home.
