If you think you would enjoy being with people with learning disabilities, are easy going and enjoy getting stuck into whatever is happening, come and talk to us about volunteering. Ideally you would have a morning or afternoon (or all day) each week that you could commit to us. Our volunteers work alongside our adult members to encourage them to achieve their potential. This could be helping them in the greenhouse, or working in the field; helping with animals or assisting with craft work or cooking. Our volunteers are highly valued and have lots of input into the development of the project. They also have fun and always leave feeling good about having spent time at Boaz. Helping others is good for the soul but Boaz is much more than that for our volunteers – Boaz is a place where they are also part of a wider community. It’s a place to make friends and a place to feel valued. It is only with the help of our existing volunteers and new volunteers joining the charity that we can improve our offer to members and help to equip them to reach their full potential both when they are attending the project and when they are outside in their wider community. We are always looking for more people to lend their helping hands. |
